PANEL 1
Desiree sits down in the closest chair. Angel remains standing. She stares at something down the block.
DESIREE
You still seeing that artsy guy? The one who draws?
ANGEL
Antony. He’s a graphic designer.
ANGEL (CONT’D)
And yes. We’re getting serious.
PANEL 2
Angel’s POV. Down the block, a woman not much older than Angel holds hands with her three year-old son. They walk down the block together. The child has turned to look back at Angel and smile.
ANGEL
(off left)
We have to wait until he’s done school to go someplace else…
PANEL 3
Medium close up of Angel. She smiles, biting her lower lip, and waves to the child, absolutely adoring him.
ANGEL
I think we’re gonna move in together, to get started. That’ll be nice.
PANEL 4
Wider shot. Desiree leans forward and looks at Angel incredulously. Angel rolls her eyes. She knows exactly what’s coming.
DESIREE
Oh, it all seems like gold and diamonds now…
PANEL 5
Angel plops down in the chair next to Desiree.
ANGEL
Desiree?
DESIREE
I know what it feels like to be a young woman. In love… not a worry in the world –
ANGEL
Desiree?
DESIREE
What?
PANEL 6 Closer in on the two of them. Angel accepts the cigarette from Desiree.
ANGEL
If I take the cigarette will you shut up?
DESIREE
(small letters)
sigh
DESIREE (CONT’D)
Yes.
PANEL 7
Different angle. Both lean back now.
DESIREE
I’m just saying, a man with a real job –
ANGEL
Stop.
DESIREE
Who’s startin’?
DESIREE (CONT’D)
It’s going to be a slow day.
