PANEL 1
The front door of the bar opens, and a white girl peeks her head in. This is NANCY, seventeen years old, bright and curious. She’s not sure if she should enter, or will be allowed entrance.
PANEL 2
With a look of determination, she enters.
PANEL 3
Roberto and Ana again.
ROBERTO
Where did Alice go?
ANA
Home. She said she doesn’t like being in bars.
ANA (CONT’D)
She’s going to come by the house later.

Roberto looks up. He has just caught sight of Nancy.
ANA
(off panel)
Maybe she can come live with us! She can cook. And I can clean, then –
