Ana snaps back to attention. Roberto continues reading.
ANA What?
ROBERTO Never mind.
ROBERTO (CONT’D)
Look, why don’t you wait up for them in their room?
PANEL 2
Ana stands in the doorway.
ANA
They were supposed to be home by eight.
ROBERTO
(off panel)
What time is it now?
ANA
Ten thirty.
PANEL 3
Roberto looks up towards her, concerned for the first time. Ana has already turned away from him and exits the room. They have never made eye contact during the exchange.
ROBERTO
Huh.
ANA
I’ll leave you alone now.
PANEL 4
Wide shot. Ana has left the room. Roberto listens, and looks upward in the way that people do when they listen to far off sounds. We can see the window, from which the sound of an ambulance emerges.

Here come the ambulances.

Roberto looks directly at us. We see him through the empty door frame from the hallway.
ROBERTO
