He puts the hat on his head.
MR. DAVIS
Bed, breakfast, shower…
PANEL 2
Standing by the front door, he checks the knot in his tie.
MR. DAVIS
Shirt, tie, hat…
PANEL 3
He bends down next to the door to get at something we can’t yet see.
MR. DAVIS
Good. Off to work, then.
PANEL 4
The front door is cracked open. He shields his eyes against the bright morning light with his free hand. We can just barely make out, in the shadows behind the door, a broom and dustpan in his other hand.
PANEL 5
He now stands outside the door, which opens out to an exposed hallway facing a courtyard. Note: Mr. Davis’s door is marked “C-35.”
