PANEL 1
Luther running after a ball. A white cargo van is backing up into the courtyard, and looks to be on a collision course with him.

PANEL 2
Alice immediate reacts, reaching an arm out, even though she’s much too far away.

PANEL 3
Thomas snatches up Luther into his chest, laughing.

THOMAS
(from a distance)
Where you goin’, huh?

PANEL 4
Alice and Mr. Davis.

MR. DAVIS
He’s okay?

MR. DAVIS (CONT’D)
More of these moving trucks every day. Everybody moving out. Nobody moving back in.

PANEL 5
Mr. Davis and Alice.

MR. DAVIS
That’s management making way for white folks. Way of the whole neighborhood’s going these days.

ALICE
I don’t know. You show me the white folks lining up to live in this dump.

PANEL 6
Same. Different angle. Mr. Davis holds his broom up in a showy way.

MR. DAVIS
Dump? Run down, maybe.

MR. DAVIS (CONT’D)
A little sweeping, a little elbow grease… we can get this place back in shape.
