PANEL 1
Keeping the bird’s eye view, close in on Roberto and Ana’s building so that it takes up most of the panel. The front windows face east. They live on the second floor, though we may not be able to see into the window. A word balloon emerges from within.
ROBERTO
(from window)
Could you please close the damn window!
PANEL 2
We are inside the house. Roberto lies in his bed. He crushes the pillow into his ears to block out the noise. Roberto is not a happy man at this hour of the day. His bedroom door is open in the background.
ROBERTO
Ana!
PANEL 3
Ana stands at the doorway, already dressed. She smiles.
ANA
Despierte. Come on. Vamanos.
PANEL 4
Roberto sits up in bed. Ana remains at the door.
ROBERTO
Speak English. You’ll end up like those bums out on the street.
PANEL 5
Closer in on Ana.
ANA
You know who you sound like when you say that.
PANEL 6
Roberto is up out of bed and slipping on his robe. He can’t help but smile a little.
ROBERTO
Yeah, I know.
