Splash page. A bird’s eye view of the Ragbox at dawn. This page is largely at the discretion of the artist, but I will provide a few general notes. Preferably, this is not a direct overhead, map-like view. We get a bit of an angle so the shadows are long and dense. People, if we can see them, are present, but not numerous. A spot on the lower-center-left is a black, burnt rubble. This is where the community center stood. Depending on the level of detail, maybe some police tape can be made out.
Very close by the rubble, within five or so blocks south, stands Roberto and Ana’s building. This is a corner. 3-story Victorian, similar to the Italianate Victorian style of nearly all of the houses in the neighborhood. The facades are decorated with molded panels, friezes, pilasters, and quoins. All are somewhat cracked and damaged. See photos for reference.
Elsewhere, two men move a mattress out of an apartment and into a moving truck.
