PANEL 1
In a dark, windowless bedroom, a slumbering figure lies in her bed. The room is sparsely decorated, indicating an abode of no great wealth. The ceiling, however, is quite high. This is Ana’s room. She has, perhaps, some carved figures of Day of the Dead-style skeleton figures – small cheap ones – and a poster of something nominally cute on her wall – probably horses. A few neglected but not forgotten stuffed animals squeeze together on a shelf.
PANEL 2
Push in closer on the figure on bed. She flips in her sleep, facing us, disturbed by a terrible dream. This is our first look at ANA, a nineteen year-old Mexican-American girl. She has a slightly drawn look about her.
